ADVANCED DRIVING & RIDING

 

Advanced Driving and Riding are systems of car and motorcycle control found in  “Roadcraft” and “Motorcycle Roadcraft”, the official handbooks for Police Drivers and Riders under training.

 

The “System” has been continually developed for our changing road conditions over many years. It was first developed for the Metropolitan Police Driving School, published in 1955, and remains the model used as a basis of Police training throughout the world.

 

Using the methodical approach of the system can greatly improve your safety and enjoyment of motoring.  Other benefits include less wear and tear, better fuel economy, lower levels of driving stress. Some insurers offer lower insurance premiums to Drivers who have passed the Advanced Driving Test.

 

The RoSPA Advanced Driving Test has three pass grades: Bronze, Silver and Gold. The Gold grade is recognised as the highest driving award available to the public.
